Robert Davidson
Principal
About
Robert grew up in Middletown Pennsylvania and spent summers in the mountains of Pennsylvania and on the beaches of Stone Harbor New Jersey. He has lived in Los Angeles, Boston, Washington DC, Martha’s Vineyard, New York, and North Carolina where he has worked on and been exposed to a wide variety of works of architecture. No matter where he has lived, his most cherished times have been spent in the company of family and friends playing outside, gathered around a table for a meal, or relaxing by a fire. He has spent much of his life contemplating the backdrop for those moments; how can the built environment connect with the natural world and enhance the experience of those moments.
Robert resides with his wife Suzanne and their young children Graham and Claire in San Diego. They enjoy swimming, exploring Torrey Pines State Reserve, and meals on their patio with family and friends. When not outdoors, Robert enjoys building Lego models with Graham and Claire. As a child, Robert spent many hours crafting models of buildings and his interest in model building has recently been rekindled by his children.
Experience
Robert brings over 20 years of experience in architecture, including nearly a decade at two of Southern California’s premier residential architecture firms. He went on to found Robert Davidson Design, where he led custom residential projects and established a practice known for thoughtful design and close collaboration with clients. After working with Bryana in recent years, Robert partnered with her to form EVDA, where he will continue to produce award-winning designs, foster strong client relationships, and occasionally… build Lego models.
Education
Robert graduated from Cal Poly Pomona with a master’s degree in Architecture. Desiring to broaden his education beyond the confines of a classroom, Robert completed the Preservation Carpentry Program at the North Bennet Street School.
He holds a bachelor’s degree from Colgate University where he studied Political Science, American History, and Art.
